I have known this particular restaurant for some years under a variety of names and styles, each one offering variety and opportunity to diners who continue to flock to Caversham, quite a foodie area of Reading away from the heart of the town centre and The Oracle. This latest version stands head and shoulders above its predecessors, with the owners a staff delivering a visible passion for their trade with no lack of flair either.
Having just said farewell to a colleague returning to his homeland outside Sydney, at a nearby Australian bar it was a sheer pleasure to be greeted warmly with a chilled glass of champagne with which to toast the success of the new venture, provided by the industrious Yasmina. Toasting the future as we touched glasses Sue and I shared the opinion that this was a restaurant with a definite buzz, that delightful fusion of chatter, atmosphere, appeal and general well being that you rarely find on your doorstep, a buzz that offers a virtual guarantee of pleasure and return visits within weeks with friends, not months away.
The restaurant is built upon a trio of talents, two of them are family members, the brother and sister team of Matthew and Yasmina (hence MYA) and have long prepared for the arrival of Mya Lacarte.
