The Bina, Caversham, Reading
The Bina has been an integral feature of the Caversham restaurant scene for many years now, a destination for many diverse groups who share the aim of excellent food in enjoyable surroundings served by professional staff. The Bina continues to deliver all three in abundance as it recovers from another hectic festive season.
The recent renovations reflect the desire of the owners not to rest on their laurels, their desire continues to be customer based, to the Bina staff the customer is both king and queen. A Paris based designer has brought the finishing touches to a celebrated restaurant where the owners have enjoyed an unrivalled reputation for service with food prepared to the highest possible standards of both taste and presentation, the awards collected over the years bear testimony to the strategic approach to customer satisfaction. The careful and thoughtful use of colour, the clearly defined lines of the light wooden floors combine to create a perfect stage for the diner who seeks the perfect stage to dine with their guests.
As we depart from the worst of the winter months, with brighter, clearer evenings in sight, diners continue to seek the perfect environment for their evenings of food and fun then take a close look at the Bina before you look anywhere else, their reputation is unrivalled, their experience beyond comparison and their supportive ability to ensure you and your guests enjoy themselves know no bounds. If that is not a recipe for success and enjoyment then you should remain at home, alone, with your cookery book.
I had the Prawn Puree to start, sweet and sour melt in your mouth prawns served in Indian bread, accompanied by an ornate salad. My main course was a speciality of the restaurant, a Chicken Jalfrezi, cooked with fresh green chillies, ginger, tomatoes and coriander, served with my favourite Pilau rice and Nan bread, a combination that has been a personal favourite of mine for many years. The wine list is extensive, refined over many years of consultation with regular customers, and reflects both the quality of the restaurant, its standing within the national trendsetters within the industry, and the discerning nature of the many regular clients. The attentive staff, uniformed and all serving guests with the customary smile, chat easily and effortlessly with the customers, reflecting the friendly nature the Bina stage is built upon.
The Bina, in the musical words of the Tina Turner classic song, is
