Hook Tandoori

This is a restaurant I certainly know well, the owner, Syed, is a popular and likable restaurateur who has been in the village for fifteen years and is an integral part of the local community having supported local
charitable functions throughout the life of this restaurant.
Once a small and traditional restaurant opposite the train station it is now a large, stylish and fashionable establishment with an immense customer base, including a sprinkling of celebrities. I dined with Syed a few weeks ago, discussion the changes and growth in his restaurant over the years and listening to the comments of the newcomers, amazed to see this culinary gem in the small but fashionable village of Hook in Hampshire.
Bright blues, oranges and purples surround you as you enter, the clean and fresh exterior of stainless steel reflect the modern nature of the building, the crisp linen with the vivid coloured chairs present an appealing look to the diner as they take their comfortable seats to peruse the menu.
Inside the Hook Tandoori there is so much going on, papers and magazines to read whilst waiting for a pre-meal drink, the welcome from the staff to the regular customers arriving with their guests to dine as well as those collecting their pre-cooked meal to enjoy in front of their favourite soap opera at home. With the restaurant opposite the busy railway station of Hook, many regulars call from the mobile for their favourite dishes to be prepared and collected en- route home from the station.
Service levels from this Bangladeshi restaurant are high indeed, owner Syed is master chef but prides himself on the quality of service given and delivered towards his large and appreciative band of regular customers. The uniformed waiters offer advice on new dishes, and unobtrusive in their style whilst ensuring each table is served with style and a smile.
My dishes on my recent visit included the Prawn Puree, a combination of prawns, spices and pineapple served in on a deep fried Indian bread, a delightful combination which can be enjoyed a as a main course with two, or a starter with one. Accompanied by a wedge of fresh lemon this is truly a family favourite in our household as well as one of my tester dishes when visiting a new restaurant.
The serving dishes used by Hook are a joy to behold, many style conscious ladies have enquired where they can be purchased, I
