Despite travelling many miles to dine each month of the year this was our first visit to Broadway, the picturesque village steeped in history and situated in the heart of the Cotswolds. With its picture postcard looks and geographical position, it is a target for many visitor armed with camera and map, underlined by the many American and Japanese voices in the shops as we made our initial foray into the streets around our hotel.

The focal point of our visit, The Lygon Arms, standing majestically in the centre of the main street of Broadway, dominated the view as well as much of history within the area. A 16th Century Inn exuding charm and intrigue, it is attracting increasing numbers of visitors to rest their weary bodies and to sample the excellence of the food, underlined recently by the award of its first Michelin Star. Under the dedicated and experienced eye of head chef Martin Blunos, the prestige of a first Michelin Star, barely a year after his arrival, has been instrumental in the hotel being under even greater attention from visitors across the globe, as our visit underlined.

The hotel offers a great deal, as well as a journey back in time more than four hundred years and a visitor
