Twyford has a new addition to its restaurants with the opening of TTAVAS an authentic Greek restaurant, a very different style of food to what is available elsewhere.
The restaurant in Church Street is small and intimate with room for about 40 diners on a good range of table sizes. The staff were very welcoming and we were shown to an excellent table by the window. The restaurant was busy for a weekday evening and the menu was one that interested many passers by in the village, with the numbers looking at the exterior menu board, as this is still a new enterprise only open a couple of months.
We dined on a hot day in July and the full air conditioning was very welcome as was the background music which was loud enough to remove museum silence but quiet enough to allow easy conversation. So what of the food, the menu is totally Greek without any fall back international dishes and caters well for vegetarians. A little knowledge of Greek dishes or prior to eating taking a look at the menu would therefore help with your selection.
